Suffolk police say they've made a major break in the unsolved murder of a Bohemia father.

Detectives arrested 28-year-old Christopher Fernandez from Sound Beach and 22-year-old Oliver Schor from Miller Place in the 2022 murder of Michael Hartmann.

Both are facing second-degree murder charges.

Officers say in the early morning hours of Nov. 2, 2022, the 49-year-old went into his backyard to have a cigarette. At the time, Suffolk police alleged that two men went in to the yard with rifles and shot at the homeowner, killing him as he got himself back inside where several of his children were.

Fernandez will be arraigned in Central Islip Wednesday.

Schor will be arraigned at a later date as he was arrested in South Carolina, and will need to be transported back to Long Island first.
