Bridgeport invites all to attend the 64th Anniversary of Jamaican Independence event
A flag raising ceremony is set to take during the festivities at the Margaret Morton Government Center on 999 Broad Street from 3 to 5 p.m.

Bridgeport residents will come together on Sunday to celebrate the 64th Anniversary of Jamaican Independence.
A flag raising ceremony is set to take during the festivities at the Margaret Morton Government Center on 999 Broad Street from 3 to 5 p.m.
"We as Jamaicans, we are a proud people, so when it comes to our culture and celebrating it, we get excited about it," said event organizer Renie Love.
Love said it is amazing that residents can drive down the highway and see the flag and come out of the community every year to celebrate Jamaican culture.
"I think it's amazing and I just love it," Love said.
