Reports of a person barricaded inside an apartment building in Elizabeth prompted a large-scale police investigation.

Police were called out to Jefferson Avenue Wednesday afternoon. A portion of the roadway was closed to vehicle traffic but pedestrians were still able to walk through.

A police drone was seen focusing on an apartment on the second floor of the building during the investigation.

The person was taken out of the building and put into an ambulance just before 5 p.m. It was not known if they were hurt or why they were barricaded inside the building.
